The North Downs WayThe North Downs Way is a 153 Mile National Trail running from Farnham, Surrey to Dover Kent. There is additionally a loop via Canterbury Completed in the following sections over 2003/ 2004. Wye to Canterbury - via Boughton Lees, Canterbury to Dover, Wye to Dover. Farnham to Betchworth, Betchworth to Otford, Otford to Cuxton, Cuxton to Hollingbourne, Hollingbourne to Wye. I found the trail very well waymarked and the terrain varies with some quite strenuous climbing but mostly undulating. Not as picturesque as the SDW, but very worthwhile. Pictures follow: Hop poles between Wye and Canterbury The way between Canterbury and Dover Looking down to Wye from the way Heading for Dover Samphire Hoe - the island built from CTRL spoil Boxhill near Dorking One of the NDW marker posts between Betchworth and Otford NDW at Wrotham Water Medway bridge with CTRL Kits Coty nr Maidstone Memorial near Hollingbourne Annierak special - finished the NDW above Wye |
